Agreed. IMO the A330 is the worst. I will hear it all night long. Often many times in rapid succession. Very annoying.
On a similar note on the MD-88, has anyone heard the chime (which sounds exactly like the seatbelt sign) go off long before arriving at the gate but after landing? This is a confusing one because many people not paying attention outside the aircraft often think that's the seatbelt sign going off and that the plane is at the gate. It generally requires an announcement from the cabin crew to remind people that the sign is actually still lit and that the aircraft isn't actually at the gate. And to be honest, I have no clue what this chime is for.
