Should AS have Rollover Miles?
I tried to find this in the thread search but came up blank. Some airlines such as Delta have "rollover" miles. That is once you achieve elite status for the year, miles earned over and above the elite tier earned, but below the next higher tier rollover to be used as qualification for the next years elite status.
In my own case I always make MVP and always fall just short of Gold. Since I know I will not make gold, once I earn MVP I start more aggressive price shopping of DL and AA. I even ended up booking a nonstop from SEA to LAX on DL, something I would never consider normally...but the price was right and I had already earned MVP.
My question is am I alone or do others do the same thing? If there are more of us out there than just me I am wondering if a rollover program might entice us to stick with AS once we make our elite qualification for the year?
