I understand, but SPG often comes in at/under USG per diem. You could easily get LT Gold there, giving you an additional travel option after you retire.
You likely aren't going to be traveling at the same pace in retirement and if you decide to travel to Europe, SPG has some aspirational properties. One SPG property that I'd eventually like to stay at is Tambo del Inka which is much closer to Machu Picchu than any Cusco hotels.

SPG also has a couple of fantastic properties in Florence Italy; my wife and I honeymooned there and in Venice at SPG properties.
