Stay Report 8/9-8/11:

Check-In: I had three rooms reserved, one two twins and two kings and when we showed up they tried to say it was for three kings. We arrived at 2:15 PM and only two out of three rooms were ready, oh well. The woman on duty was very nice and despite us having three rooms, we were offered breakfast coupons (continental only) for everyone. Also, they let us all use my free wifi so that was a big plus.

Room: We had three rooms, one on the 12th floor, one on the 6th floor and the one with two beds on the 1st (really the 3rd) floor. Annoyingly, you can't take the stairs to the 1st floor and I feel guilty using an elevator to go that high. Our room was at the end of the hall with a lovely view of Grand Avenue (street noise was a problem at times). The beds were also much smaller that a lot of two bed rooms I'd stayed in before, including here. However, we did have a really nice bathroom once you figured out how to get the shower to not be either really really hot or really really cold.

Breakfast/Other: As I mentioned above, breakfast is a coupon for a continental breakfast which includes breads, yogurt, coffee and orange juice (it's not a buffet). The coupon can be applied towards entrees but I didn't bother. None of the food, not my breads or my brother's eggs and potatoes were particularly good but service was. No issues with wifi while we were here and while valet parking is $48.95 a night, they were always really good about getting our car out quickly. Also, I really like the bar here. It closed at 11 and my Dad and I were still there drinking and while they turned away someone who arrived late, they did make us new drinks.

Our rate was $250 a night and as we were in LA for Dodger games it was a good location, but the quality of the stay has gone downhill with only a continental breakfast and the rooms are a bit small. Still, it works for downtown.
