It depends on the a/c. Were you on a 767-400? I don't think that these have the issue. The biggest problem, IME, is on an airbus with the remote controls for IFE. They are a bit confusing, and also, bulkhead seats have them stowed in the seat next to you, so easy to accidentally hit.
