Thanks everyone - some really helpful comments here! I'm traveling on a Canadian passport, so it seems the visa won't be a problem. As long as my incoming flight isn't delayed and the line up for customs doesn't seem to bad, I'll probably give it a go.

One follow-up? Is it possible/advisable to leave my carry-on near the gate somewhere? Are there lockers or a bag check provided somewhere?
