I have been playing around with the following combination for several days. MCO-ANC-HNL-ANC-MCO. If I book MCO-ANC R/T and a second ticket ANC-HNL R/T I can get a reasonable fare of about $400/ticket or $800 for the entire trip. When I plug the dates into the multi-city feature the least expensive flight I can find is $1500. If I book the ANC-HNL R/T within the MCO-ANC trip so it book-ends the ANC-HNL-ANC flights will I cause any problem for myself with Delta? I seem to remember that this is not legal.

I need 16,000 MQMs before Jan. 1. This seems to be the least expensive way of obtaining them, but if anyone else has a better suggestion I would like to see it. We are not fussy about where we go. We need to fly on Delta.
