I would probably take the Tier points yes, though it's not a TP run as such. I was really curious as to why AC flights came up on the BA site for booking. I didn't think there was a relationship at all between the two.

EDIT: But you are right 5.5 hours is very reasonable and AC fares for the dates don't look too bad. So I think it would be AC
