If you have at least $250k in your Chase checking and savings accounts, you should be eligible to upgrade to the CPC banking accounts without starting an investment relationship. This should also allow you to apply for the Palladium card if you wish.

My understanding of the Chase Strategic Portfolio is that it is a fairly standard asset allocation model. I haven't dug into their investment thesis, but suspect they do a decent job (since everything supposedly comes down from the J.P. Morgan Private Bank), but the fees will likely be a little high. If you know nothing about investing, it may be valuable to have a banker and investment advisor help walk you through things. But if you are somewhat knowledgeable and would rather self-direct, you'd be better off with a discount brokerage, especially if you're a proponent of MPT and EMH.
