excellent recent stay
They weren't able to give me my room preference (away from the elevator); they called days in advance to check if I would take King bed suite upgrade. The staff went the hospitality extra mile in phone calls and upon check-in but the hotel was sold out (I was a Diamond force). I kept reassuring them how pleased I was with my room, but they sent up a bottle of red and two wine glasses. Really unnecessary but appreciated. The hotel is especially nice over the typical Hampton, IMO, because of its location. The owners also have the adjacent Yankee Hotel, so both properties have access to the padded lounge chairs overlooking the distant Berkshires and nearby pond in the back of the properties. My relatives stayed at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge about 6 miles south. I was happy to have the "less authentic" experience at the Hampton. I like their reliable sleep experience.
