I was going to try the Chromecast in some other configurations today -- it had worked fine in my initial test. I plugged everything in and it as dead -- no video signal, no blue light, nothing. I tried different USB cables, power sources and monitors -- all the same, dead as a door nail.

I'm sending it back to Amazon for replacement, but Amazon estimates 2-3 MONTHS for replacement.
