Have you seen a discussion on this board before of the merits of switching BA Amex to cashback Amex so that you can recover the cash to pay the YQ and APD? I have not and accordingly posted this thread.
But all you are doing is using the cash 'earned' from a cash back card to pay a bill.
The reward is cash that is unrestricted on where you spend it - be that the supermarket , gas bill , rates or gym membership.
Or of course paying the taxes and fees on a reward flight or indeed a flight you purchase!
