if you're going to have a local SIM, unless you forward your US # to it, your phone won't ring for US calls anyhow. so just get a Google Voice #, link with your US mobile # and have messages forwarded to you via email as attachments. you can change your voice mail to say you are out of country and will return call as soon as practical. unless you have to be able to pick up the call, this works very well.
