My wife and I have 18000 miles in each of our account. Our miles are expiring in September 30, 2013. Hence we would like to use it towards any award travel from SFO.

From Asia miles website, it says the amount of miles required from SFO to destinations. But it doesn't say whether there are seats available in American/Alaskan Airlines. I'd appreciate if you could navigate me to site where I can see the award availability.

Also, should I call to book those award seats or any better way to book the reservations through Cathay?
