Good to see they've gone for just one funnel into security. Whilst the current North / South arrangement at T5 is convenient for frequent travellers who know that South is usually a lot quicker (due to being a lot further from the tube) it is inefficient.
Its not easy to make out, but in my interpretation of the floor plans there also appears to be a dedicated security area at Flight Connections - see the beige/brown areas to the right hand side of the bottom two plans. If so, then lessons will have taken following the opening of T5.
