I have a Compaq Presario 700 (if you care

) but I also have a spare power bar from another old Compaq laptop (only 3 yrs old). Can I use one at home and pack the other one in my luggage for "on the road use"?
Current Power Bar:
Input 100-240~
50/60Hz
1.5A
Output 19V
3.16A
60W MAX
For use with compaq series CM2050, CM2060, CM2070 family of computer products only.
Replace only with compaq spares 180676-001
Old Power Bar

Of course Compaq tells me to buy another power bar from them This might be true but they seem to operate at the same specs.
Any toughts? I can't afford to blow my laptop up right now
