That's what I got with IB and had to accept the changes online, and it's not like AA don't have my e-mail address.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or whining and I appreciate and see the logic in informing the customers. I give my Kudos to AA. It's just the rather out of the blue phone call that had me do a double take and get worried about misconnecting because of a schedule change.
The updated flight number doesn't seem to have trickled down the various (non-AA) systems though because TripIt now thinks I'm flying DTW-DFW and not LGA-DFW
