Phone call to accept a 1 minute schedule change and change of flight number
Hi all,
I just received a phone call asking me to accept a flight change. Because this is a sequence of separate bookings I immediately got worried I'd misconnect, however, on closer examination the only things that really changed were the flight number on one segment and that same segment now departs and arrives 1 minute earlier. I wonder what would have happened if I said "no" to the automated system when asked if I accept these changes.
Equipment is the same and the seat assignments carried over. Is it normal for AA to send out these messages by phone if the flight number changes, which I have to explicitly accept even though nothing has really changed? Or is it the 1 minute schedule change that prompted the call?
No big deal and not the end of the world as we know it so not too fussed. Just surprised that I'd get a call about this.
Although, it is much better than DL who didn't inform us of a schedule change by 30mins and we showed up at the airport thinking the flight was 30 minutes later. Luckily, we were right on the cusp of check-in time for bags and had we not used the First Class check-in we would have been stuck. So I guess Kudos to AA for making sure everyone's informed by collecting explicit consent.
