Remember that there is no E+ on LH. The preferred seats at the front of the cabin (and row 37 on the 744 for some reason) are just regular economy seats. The exit rows become available at the T-23 timeframe also.
I agree on avoiding codeshares if possible as a general rule. As noted, you will get the PQMs as long as you are in the right fare bucket. If the ticket is issued on 016 stock, you will also get PQDs (this really only counts for 2014 and beyond) regardless of UA or LH flight number. Good luck getting United.com to give you the LH flight number if a codeshare exists.
Of course, you also get lounge access...
