I'm still looking at piecing together an award between Australia/NZ and Micronesia using the intra-South Pacific award, and have a few more newbie questions on the 'official' rules (as opposed to the HUACA rules)...
1) I understand that you are not supposed to have stopovers, but is an open jaw OK?
2) If so, can it be the kind of open jaw where your itinerary finishes in a different city to the one where it began (e.g. Christchurch to Palau // Palau to Sydney) or only the ones where you return from a different city to your original destination (e.g. Christchurch to Palau // Guam to Christchurch)?
3) How does the program define stopovers - do they use the under 24hrs rule or is it more stringent than that?
4) Do they have the same rule as Star Alliance RTWs of 'forced' stopovers not counting as a stopover? E.g. if we arrived in Manila on a Wednesday morning and the next flight to Palau was on Friday evening, does that 60hr stopover in MNL not count as a stopover?
thanks
