They did apologise and gave me 2 "Have One On Us" coupons. I'll see if they do anything else since there was an hour and a half mechanical delay on the first flight in addition to the 30 minute delay on the second flight and the downgrade. Another interesting fact, in my SkyMiles account the segment shows flown in R class even though I have the boarding pass showing I was in coach.
