I've never had a problem with Terminal 3. Actually, that's not true, I hate the bottleneck for security at the DL pier which is always far worse than at the AA pier. There's a Paradise Bakery and a Starbucks so I'm good food wise, there's free wi-fi and there's never a long walk to your gate. Plus, I always associate it with my college and post-college years living in Tempe when I flew AA almost exclusively so it has the nostalgia factor for me.
The parking garage is terrible though, very low and narrow and confusing.
