Hi,
Apologies if a new thread isn't appropriate for this, but a multi-part query so I wasn't sure if it had been answered or where was appropriate.
I'm flying LHR-LAS later in the autumn, but I've decided to return LAS-LAX-LHR as the A380 will be flying by then. Maybe nuts, but having flown the A380 before I'll take the diversion over an old 747 (the torch has been passed I'm afraid).
Anyway, due to corporate policy my booking is WT with AA via a travel agent. The LHR-LAS and LAS-LHR legs are all on BA metal, with just a short AA hop.
At the time of the booking BA were (are) doing a competitive price on flying LAX-LHR in WT+. Having tried to upgrade with the TA, they can only offer business (not in my budget). AA offer business too, but for WT+ they want to upgrade the whole itinerary (more than CW).
Using my BAEC number, I can see my itinerary on ba.com complete with BA PNR and links to MMB. So now to the questions (sorry it took so long!):
- Is there any chance that BA would be willing to upgrade the single leg given that it's there metal? Someone else's ticket I know, but they're close!
- Once the trip starts, do BA take over the ticket or is it AA?
(All booksings are TA, but noticed that paid upgrades became available via MMB once the 1st sector was done)
- If not, and I'm checking through from LAS, where could I enquire about a paid upgrade on the day? Would it be at the first check-in (AA @ LAS) or should I wait until I can talk to BA staff at LAX?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!
