Your analyses of the seat (that will be replaced) is spot-on. I also agree with your point about freedom of movement. I think it is an advantage that the KL J cabin has a loungy feel to it, and I think the new seat will keep that tradition intact. Isle access for all seats and maximum privacy results in a claustrophobic setup, which I don't like at all. The inconvenience of climbing out a few times during a flight is insignificant compared to being trapped in a coffin-like box for 10 hours imho.

I always do a quick scan of the cabin before I leave for left behind huisjes, but through that method I only gained 2 extra huisjes over all those years!

Quite! I also wanted to report on the way back, LAX-AMS in Y. Sure I missed the WBC seat but the service was EXCELLENT. 5:-:, truly amazing. We had a terrific flight attendant who was attentive, engaging and chatty. We also received personal service from him sitting in the exit row. I had a great chat with him about KLM and aviation and he arranged a cockpit visit for me after landing! ^
Other crew were excellent as well as I scored champagne and some WBC cheese, fruit and dessert.
And apart from upgrading friend&family, the captain was a nice chap too.
The crew definitely makes a flight.
I am also glad to announce that as the temperatures have dropped in NL, I have commenced on reporting the Delta BusinessElite leg.
I expect it online this week.
