Many important features are still not available - upgrades for example. And LH->UA E+ assignment doesn't work ...
My experience was the same (devastating) and it was last month. Though in my case I had a LH ticket with UA codeshare. I picked a seat on the LH site on a UA flight but when I got the confirmation email the seat was totally different from what I have picked and this happend more then once.
Not to mention that on my outbound flight LH put me on a UA E+ seat free of charge but on my inbouond UA charged me for E+ seating.
The best expereiene ive had with codeshare seat reserving was with BA/AA. For me that worked flawlessly. I had BA tickets but was able to pick AA seating like it was on a BA flight, so no hassle there.
