I would do the diamond match before the card signup to get the 2 free suite nights, HOWEVER if you want to put some additional effort, get diamond status for the year.

Getting suite upgrades are hit & miss, but can be done with some legwork on your end (calling the hotel after you booked the reservation, explain to them you on on your honeymoon, etc, etc.)
