You'll need the PNR and her name - I did this for my in-laws as an anniversary gift using miles. The "surprise" might be spoiled by the itinerary e-mails, however somehow I ended up getting the e-mails after I upgraded them to BE with my miles (it wasn't clear if I got them AND they got them, or if it was just me getting their itinerary e-mails).
