Searching titles only, return threads only, use keywords status or elite or matches or challenges or combination such as status+matches would do it. For posts, use Search This Thread and use terms like update.

AA's IT system was the first, and they cancelled the contract with Hewlett Packard to develop Jetstar, so we're left with a somewhat archaic system. Things can take time - a lot of batch processing goes on around the weekend (threads "my miles are missing" out there), and if it skips before you fly, be sure to call.
