Around 1,5 hours before ETA, a snack was served. No table cloth this time. A tray with a salad and dessert was placed on my tray table. The FA then offered a choice between a croquette roll or vegetarian snack. I decided on the croquette. The description of the salad on the menu was:
roasted bell pepper salad, accompanied by tomatoes, mozzarella, olives and pesto. The salad had a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste. The roll was nice enough with some mustard, but was lukewarm. The almond cinnamon mousse was nice. Water was offered with the snack.

Trays were collected and not soon after both FA’s passed through the cabin with the Delft Blue houses. I was happy I was offered one too (they contain liquor). I just decided on the prettiest one on the tray.

Almost landfall
Cabin Prepped for Landing
Closer to landing, the cabin was prepped which included collection of the headphones. From that moment I continued listening to some music on my iPhone and watched the air show.
After a long way...
...only 100 miles to go
I really missed the window seat now but still got some peeks through the window. There was a low ceiling so you couldn’t see much until really close to the ground anyway. The cockpit crew made a smooth landing and the memorable flight was over.
Before landing I inquired about which door would be used for disembarkation. It was 2L, the door behind WBC. After landing I waited until the WBC and forward Economy (Comfort) cabin exited the airplane as my family was in row 18. In the meantime I noticed a couple in the row in front of me had left both their Huisjes (OK OK, maybe I eyed on them the whole flight, as they did not seem to care much when the Huisjes were distributed). I asked the FA if I could take them as well and she said sure.

Three in the pocket from one flight, good catch. I also chatted a bit and it turned out their layover was less than 24 hours.
I thanked the FA for the great flight and exited when my parents made it to the front. We ‘rushed’ to the arrivals hall, fearing a long line but the opposite was true. Virtually no one in line! As a matter of fact, we were the second in the queue and it was our turn within 5 minutes. Officer with a sharp pokerface until we were all cleared as non-terrorists and we were wished a pleasant stay. Baggage took a while but I’d rather wait at baggage claim than in line for immigration.
No question or inspection at customs, just handing in the forms (they weren’t even looked at) and we proceeded to ground transportation, where it was chaos. A short hour later we were in our SUV to our hotel in Manhattan.
Catch after one flight
