I prefer the bayshore because it is by the water and some rooms have a great view of the bay and Stanley Park. Early morning walks along the sea wall are nice.
A little bit of random info. There is an night market about 30 mins from the hotel (outskirts of town) with all kinds of street food and stuff. More like something you encounter in Asia, not in North America. You may find it interesting.

We get off a cruise Friday morning and fly home Sunday morning. We are staying at Westin Bayshore both nights. We could extend for a day or spend a night in Whistler. Your comments make sense that perhaps it is not worth spending 3-4 hours in a car on a day trip to Whistler. I am just asking because I am not sure when we will be back here. Should we just spend the two days around Vancouver? Is Whistler some worth extending for an extra night?
