Great to hear you have booked flights, I wish you the very best of luck and hope you (and indeed everyone that wants to get on the new planes) are successful. ^

However, I am personally not convinced about the 6th having the A380. Although BA.com shows it as you have posted above, two other posters (one that discussing flights with crew and one from a BA cabin crew member) have indicated that there will be ground trials on Tuesday the 6th. I also had a look at Frankfurt airport and it was not showing the A380 IIRC.

It is worth remembering that on Saturday, the 3rd Aug. BA.com was showing the A380 but it did not go.

So my current conclusion is that it won't be travelling on the 6th and I'll leave the calendar as a NO day. I have copied the relevant posts below for your info (in case you wish to change your flights?) Of course, no one can say for certain until the day...so you may indeed get lucky and I hope you do...just that things don't seem to support it right now on the limited info we have.

Hope this helps, enjoy your flights. If anyone has any further info to support or deny what is happening on the 6th please do let us know.

I'll also take this post as an opportunity to ask if anyone has heard anything about the 787 dates? That seems mysteriously quiet...only the 9th being the start dates and the 11th IIRC as a return date with the end definitely being 1 Sept. Anyone have any cousins out there?

I'll do up a calendar for the 787 as well but right now not much to put in it!

Relevant posts to 6th being a no go day for A380:

This is one of the flights where the aircraft doesn't leave the ground and they run a full service to try and iron out all the problems.
The pax are BA staff who will be trying to replicate any and all things that a normal customer might do on the flight.
