I would fully expect the crew to show pax around public areas of the aircraft on request, subject to service being completed. I don't think it's anything special the crew doing this.
Actually the crew were not specially selected for this first flight, but are in fact were just rostered from the pool of A380-qualified Mixed Fleet crew. I think it's lovely that the authentic leadership from the CSM and the pride the crew have for being on the new flagship big bird of our airline wanted to show it around. Very much outside of what was expected of them but just naturally authentic and engaging.
