Well, I am here now. My intention was not to answer my own question.
EY IAD lounge opens at 6:15pm for the 10:15 flight. It's next to gate and has it's own door so one avoids the queue.
Here's what awaits.
Everything feels new..and of course, it is.
I was told upstairs is open when it's busy....but it's now not.
One shower. It's a rain shower. Stocked nicely with liquid soaps and cream. Very clean.
Staff apologized for no hard liquor. Virginia's laws are the strictest in the country I once read and the proof is it has taken over 4 months and still no hard liquor. The bar has beer (one ale called Doggy Style and Heineken), champagne and wine.
Food bar is high quality and pleasant. A la carte offers one beef, one chix, one fish and gnocchi for mains.
Lounge is nice but an air-bridge blocks the view of the airfield through the windows although one can see the nose of the Etihad plane.
A few other things about my IAD experience.
-body scanners detect even paper at immigration so put all in the bins even tissue - unless giving the TSA employee something to do is your thing
-despite the above, the clock at the immigration line said 6:00pm. I arrived at the lounge at 6:09. One takes a train now, not a 4 wheel big-buggy. Trains run every 150 seconds, ride is about 45 seconds long
-J to F at check-in was $650
-Y to J at check-in was $900 (I paid it in this EY lounge where I'm writing from.)
-about 60,000 miles to upgrade
-lounge is shared by Saudia's afternoon flight
That's about all I noticed.
