The People's Palace

The People's palace is, at the same time, an incredible building and a monstrosity. Built to reflect the greatness of Communist Romania, it's absolutely massive (the second largest building in the world). It was never used by the communists, as it wasn't finished until the early 90s. The size of the building is truly impressive.

Despite all the work, it's only 50% finished. Not that it matters much: I went for a 2 hour tour, and managed to visit 4% of it. You have to pay an extra fee to take pictures inside, so I did what anyone would do: skimped on the fee, and whenever the guide wasn't looking, I snapped away! Trouble is, the guide was always looking. Here's a picture from the main balcony:
