I'm sorry to break the news, but there is no man upstairs and the blokes in the Vatican have been getting up to all sorts of mischief too.
Of course we are all fallible and prone to mistakes, being distracted etc. That is fine and what makes us human.
But that is not the point: the real point is about
intent. We all have choices to make all of the time. I have been brought up (by my very working class mother) with the notion that we should at all times act with integrity and honesty, do our best to be the best person we can be. I have also found that life is so much simpler if you take that as the starting point: no need for all the silly masquerading, subterfuge, pretence, etc.
