Well, what does it mean, then? Either the rule is adhered by or it is not. You might want to call getting access to a lounge in a way that is not allowed under the rules as "bending" the rule, but in that case it's simply using the term as a synonym for "breaking" the rule.

It is possible to call the sky green, but if said sky is in fact blue no amount of relabelling will change the actual fact...
