The are some of us who have come from a working class background and are in a somewhat better position to judge others who plainly can't be ar**d to do anything to better their position in life.
But surely I am clearly an example of starting working class and bettering myself in principle by having a gold card through business travel, that was really my point to the lad, it clearly isn't a working class activity to be in a lounge as I guess he was hinting, but it doesn't mean that I cant use my instincts to mix the two, it doesn't make me an oaf to play them at their own game, the high and mighty tone of some is the disgrace let me assure you.
You misunderstand if you feel I see to demean working class, the exact opposite is the case, and I struggle greatly to change the mindset and standards as it doesn't come naturally to me, and I am not comfortable of changing for what I would say was the worse.
The cant be assed argument is more of a social one not related to airline lounges, so don't want it off topic, will gladly discuss it on another thread though
Ok fair enough, I just think we have a slightly different viewpoint. I have not forgot my origins however I am quite comfortable with moving on.
the last point noted above is relevant in a way in that a lot of the issues regarding lounge access relate to the fact that the people wishing the rules to be bent are the ones who can't be bothered to either gain status of purchase an F/J ticket. It is this wanting something for nothing culture pervading this country which is holding it back.
This is perhaps why myself and others on this forum are so hell bent on applying the rules and ending the pernicious compensation culture developing on this board.
