seriously, LHRMEL, since when is calling an airline and confirming considered a good enough excuse? I called SQ for my flight, all was good, until the moment all wasn't good and 9W canned my ticket. phone agents at confirmations have no idea what management will decide - all they see is a "valid ticket" and a "valid confirmation", how are they to know the gate agent will deny?
unless you're suggesting calling to confirm every day or so, "just in case".
