Ummm, no. I have had status over the years with Hyatt (Diamond), Starwood (Plat)and Hilton (Plat) and all have given stay credits when booking through a travel agent.
And I don't dispute they offer free wifi and breakfast, and upgrades if available, but my company books me in club level anyway and I don't need those perks.
Regardless, if you are going to impose these very significant rules, you should do so before you take the customer's money. FWIW, they refunded my money.
