Step 1: Add tons of capacity depressing fares
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit!

The good news for them is that Delta's RJ SFO-LAX operation will be dramatically cheaper to operate than UA's mainline operation ... and the RJs that Delta is putting on this route aren't really all that bad (and have WiFi).
