Unfortunately it's true. This airline doesn't work like this anymore.

I hear it often from pursers: "Please report it, because your one comment means more to management than if 9 pursers said the same thing. We have been reporting it for months and the company doesn't listen to us." I hate to disillusion them, so I just nod and smile.
