I hadn't done a proper search on seat maps before posting as I should have, but now that I have, I can't say it's settled anything. There seem to be two schools of thought on the subject: The first is that the seat map shows any reserved seats; so, there may be tickets purchased without having chosen seats. This would mean that there are actually less seats available than the map shows. The other opinion out there is that there are indeed more seats unsold than shown, the map is either not accurate, or the airline is waiting to release these till later. Would make sense, you're more likely to pay a higher fare if you're worried about not getting a seat. Don't see any hard proof one way or the other, but probably will take my chances and see how it looks over the next couple of weeks.
