I flew on #149 Sunday July 28.
Dinner consisting of salad with peach slices with lemon vinaigrette dressing, blue cheese crusted chicken and mashed potatoes, and lemon pudding with whip cream topping. Dinner was tasty, dessert was a disappointment (in my opinion, lacked pleasant flavor and innovation).
The other choice was steak with a wine sauce, but I didn't get a look at it.
Warm nuts served prior to landing.
No menu or warm towel offered.
THIS would be the meal which is referred to above. It's been making the rounds A LOT lately. The entrée choices are as follows:
Blue Cheese Encrusted Chicken Breast
Accented with cherry tomato sauce
Accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and caper medley
Beef Provençal
beef braised in red wine sauce
Served with baby carrots and a zucchini ~ onion medley
Dessert is a Lemon Merengue Parfait
Peach & Feta Salad
Beef Provençal
Blue Cheese Encrusted Chicken Breast
Isn't the sauce supposed to go on the chicken?
I thought only gravy went on potatoes...
Comment: The salad consists of mixed greens (mesclun) tossed with sliced peaches, slivered almonds and grated feta cheese. The dressing is a light Lemon Vinaigrette that - by my tastes at least - is so bad that I've taken to skipping the salad course. The chicken can be pretty good but the breast size varies from full grown chicken to pigeon or even roadrunner with comparable density and dryness. The beef is not exactly "a steak with wine sauce". While appearing to have been regurgitated onto the plate, it actually tastes pretty good. It includes mushrooms and onions.
