That's a confusing point of view. After all, the status you achieve in 2015 also counts throughout the rest of 2015. I think most people would say "your status in 2014" is the status that you achieve based on 2014 travel, which would then give you benefits throughout the rest of 2014 and all of 2015.
But at least now I understand what you meant!
