So Pausanias - based on your criteria where would you recommend with a good house reef - I also would prefer a hotel without over water bungalows as I love rooms that open directly onto the sand - hadn't considered the environmental damage before but I guess that is a very good point. We haven't been to the Maldives before but would like to spend a few days there combined with a couple of weeks in Sri Lanka.
