Well, I spoke to the new GM for both properties today, and she said the new Residence Inn will open Thursday, August 1. As my place is being renovated (new kitchen, bath, etc...) and I will have to be out for 3 weeks, I'm booked on night 1. Never been in a hotel that has never been used before. Should be interesting. I'll report back.

I forgot to ask her about the Fairfield, but it looks to be some weeks behind. I'm sure they didn't want both opening together anyway.
