Thanks. It was a good service both ways. On the LAX-SYD flight, the first officer stopped by to meet the PAX in the UD section of the 747. Overall service was above my expectations (which were low).

That's too bad. As I was hearing the purser taking obvious pride in his job, I was thinking that Smisek could bring back the slogan, as a small (face-saving) acknowledgement that he went too far in making the new company look too much like CO. A more careful blend that took the best of each side would have made a much better merger. And UA's slogan was definitely the best in the business. It should have stayed.
