Interesting piece on SW being fined $200,000 for failure to make enough seats available at advertised fares and, in one instance, no seats available at the advertised fare. The company spokesman blamed it on a "glitch" in the inventory system. Wouldn't it be better to just fix the IT issues rather than risk fines? I would expect the next one to be a lot more than $200,000.
sigh. I wonder if someone has the e-mail address for the Southwest CIO.

He's obviously failed. Has it been the same guy all these years? Southwest used to be the leader in this field... but my, have they fallen...

edit: Hm... looks like... "Randy Sloan"... appointed May 13, 2013.

Their CTO is... "Craig Maccubbin"... from... Spirit Airlines!!! appointed... April 19, 2013...

well... I guess these guys have been around for only a few months, so lets give them a few more to see if they can turn around the department...
