I just used the cabanas a few days ago and asked the agent at the lounge entry about limits. She said "Officially we have a 1.5 hour limit. However, no one will ever come to tell you to leave, we just ask people to limit themselves to 1.5 hours."

So my guess is that the cabanas were extra busy and because of the loudmouth guy they decided to nudge the person who was there the longest.
