I was thinking about having my mom get the United MileagePlus Explorer card (she has a 50k) offer, which would then allow them to transfer the 40k+ UR from the CSP to United, granting them with 90k. Then only needing 20k more points to get to Rome because United has flights that are 55k points each way.

Is the United Explorer card the better option than the Club? What are the differences? Do you suggest another airline for int'l travel?
